Vaulted Doors
Teak
This piece was my first experience using scarf joinery. A scarf joint is a way of joining two pieces of wood together at their ends via interlocking notches of wood. The joint is tightened by inserting a "tapered wooden key" into the middle, which forces the pieces away, yet into one another. It's a very elegant solution that illustrates the finer intricacies of custom woodworking.
